Joy-Con drift became one of the most-discussed gaming hardware defects in history. Within a year of the Nintendo Switch launching in 2017, players worldwide reported that their Joy-Con analogue sticks were registering movement without any input — characters walking off cliffs, menus scrolling by themselves, aiming shifting in shooters. Joy-Con drift repair replaces the analogue stick module inside the Joy-Con. The original module uses a potentiometer — a wiper that tracks a resistive carbon strip to register position. Carbon strips wear under normal use; after 300–500 hours of play, the stick begins registering phantom movement. We disassemble the Joy-Con, remove the worn stick module, and fit a new OEM-compatible module. Both left and right Joy-Con can drift — if both need repair, the combined price is from $89. Joy-Con connectivity repair covers situations where a Joy-Con fails to sync or drops out repeatedly during gameplay. The first step is always re-pairing (press and hold the SYNC button, then hold down until the player LED indicators flash, then pair in Switch settings). If re-pairing doesn't resolve it, the antenna inside the Joy-Con may have come loose from a drop, or the connection itself may have an intermittent fault. Antenna reconnect or replacement from $39.

Charging rail repair addresses the Joy-Con slide connector — the rail on the side of the Joy-Con that connects it to the Switch and to the Joy-Con charging grip. Button repair covers any of the Joy-Con's face buttons (A, B, X, Y, directional buttons), triggers (ZL/ZR), shoulder buttons (L/R), and the SR/SL side buttons. Buttons can stop registering due to dirt under the membrane, a worn rubber contact dome, or physical damage. Button repair from $39.

Switch Lite Joy-Con repair is different from detachable Joy-Con repair — the Switch Lite has integrated controllers that cannot be removed without full disassembly.
