Acer screen replacements vary by model. Standard Aspire FHD panels are straightforward. Nitro 5 panels are 144Hz IPS — Acer uses a clip-down chassis lid that requires more care than average to open cleanly. Predator Helios screens are QHD or 4K at 165Hz–240Hz, and these higher-spec panels take longer to source. We always quote before ordering parts.
Thermal service on Predator and Nitro 5 laptops is one of the most worthwhile repairs we do on Acer machines. Predator Helios and Nitro 5 run Core i7/i9 and RTX mobile GPUs in relatively thin chassis, and the thermal paste between the CPU/GPU and heatsink dries out after 2–3 years of gaming use. Dried paste causes temperatures 20–30°C above optimal, triggering thermal throttling that cuts CPU and GPU clock speeds mid-game. A thermal paste replacement and full fan dust clean restores clock speeds to specification.
Battery replacements on Acer laptops restore the full charging capacity. Swift and Aspire batteries are accessible via bottom panel. Predator Helios batteries are larger capacity (72–90Wh) and require more disassembly — our technicians are familiar with the specific chassis variants across the Helios 16/18 product line.
Charging port repairs cover both barrel DC jacks (common on older Aspire) and USB-C charging ports (on newer Swift and Predator models with USB-C PD charging). A Predator Helios that only charges via USB-C but won't charge via the barrel jack — or vice versa — is usually a port fault we can resolve.
