Thermal service is the most common — and most impactful — repair on MSI gaming laptops. The Raider, Katana, and Pulse series push Core i7/i9 CPUs and RTX 3060/3070/3080/4060/4070 GPUs through heatsink arrays that work well when the thermal compound is fresh. After 2–3 years of serious gaming, that compound dries out and the thermal resistance climbs significantly. CPU/GPU temperatures rise 25–35°C, thermal throttling cuts in, and in-game performance drops noticeably below the laptop's specification. A full thermal paste replacement, heat pipe clean, and fan flush takes 1–2 hours and restores factory-level thermal performance.
MSI screen repairs depend on the model's panel specification. The Katana GF66/GF76 and Pulse GL use standard IPS FHD at 144Hz — these panels are relatively straightforward to replace. The Raider GE series and Stealth GS models use higher-spec QHD 165Hz or QHD 240Hz panels, which take slightly longer to source but are fully replaceable. The Stealth 16 Studio uses a QHD+ OLED option that represents MSI's premium display tier.

These cells degrade noticeably by year 3 — a replacement battery restores full session time and eliminates the risk of a swollen cell pushing against the keyboard or bottom panel.
Board-level GPU repair covers solder joint failures on discrete RTX modules and VRAM failures. Older MSI GT and GS models with MXM graphics modules sometimes show discrete GPU failures that manifest as display artefacts or black-screen boot failures — we repair these at the component level rather than quoting a whole-board replacement.
