Samsung Galaxy phones use some of the best display technology available — Dynamic AMOLED 2X on the flagship S series, Super AMOLED on A series, and custom 120Hz panels on the Ultra models. When a Samsung Galaxy screen cracks, the repair matters: using the wrong panel type (LCD instead of AMOLED) degrades the display significantly. At STS, we use OEM-specification AMOLED panels to maintain the original colour quality, brightness, and fingerprint sensor compatibility.
Samsung screens break in characteristic patterns. The AMOLED layer under the glass is more damage-sensitive than traditional LCD — a crack that might leave an iPhone screen partially functional often causes immediate display failure on an AMOLED Samsung (colour bleed, black patches, or complete blackout). Early repair prevents secondary damage to the panel.
Galaxy S-series screen repair (S22, S23, S24, S25): Samsung's flagship phones use Dynamic AMOLED 2X with high-refresh-rate panels and in-display optical fingerprint sensors. The fingerprint sensor works with the AMOLED layer — OEM-spec panels maintain sensor compatibility. Budget aftermarket LCD panels (significantly cheaper) don't support the in-display fingerprint sensor and reduce display quality. We stock both and present the price difference at the diagnostic. S23 AMOLED from $119, S24 from $149, S23 Ultra from $189, S24 Ultra from $219.
Galaxy S25 series: recently released at time of writing, parts assessment on arrival. Free diagnostic confirms availability and price before repair begins.
Galaxy A-series screen repair (A14, A34, A53, A54, A55): Samsung's A-series uses Super AMOLED or LCD depending on the model. A14 uses a PLS TFT LCD (not AMOLED) — replacement from $89 with original-spec LCD panel. A53 and A54 use Super AMOLED — replacement from $99. A34 from $99. These are the most common Samsung phones in Australia by volume and we see them frequently.
Galaxy Z Fold/Z Flip screen repair: the foldable Galaxy Z series uses flexible OLED panels — both an outer cover display and an inner foldable main display. The inner foldable OLED is the most delicate screen in mainstream consumer phones — it requires specialist handling and is more expensive to replace. Z Fold inner screen from $299, outer cover from $179. Z Flip outer from $149.
Back glass repair: Galaxy S21 and later models have a glass back panel. If the back glass is cracked (often from drops that don't affect the front), back glass replacement from $79 restores the phone's original look and maintains IP68 water resistance.
