Samsung makes some of the world's best televisions — and when they fail, they're worth fixing. A Samsung 65" QLED that costs $2,000+ new can often be repaired for $150–$300 at STS, depending on the fault. The most common Samsung TV fault — a screen that goes dark while sound continues — is a backlight failure, and it's one of our most regular repairs.

At STS Roxburgh Park, we repair Samsung TVs at the board level. We don't swap entire boards unnecessarily — we identify the specific failed component (a capacitor, an IC, an LED strip) and replace it. That approach delivers a significantly lower repair cost than any Samsung-authorised service and a faster turnaround than a warranty claim. Samsung TV backlight repairs are our most common TV job. The backlight system in Samsung LED and QLED televisions uses strips of LEDs behind the screen — when one or more strips fail, the screen goes dark despite the TV producing sound. We test the entire backlight array, replace only the failed strips, and calibrate the brightness. Most backlight repairs are completed in 2–3 days.

Samsung mainboard repairs cover the main processing board that handles video input, app processing, and display output. A mainboard fault often presents as the TV turning on and off repeatedly, failing to connect to the internet, or displaying distorted colours. At the component level, mainboard failures are often a single capacitor or IC — we replace it rather than the whole board.

Samsung T-CON (Timing Controller) board faults typically cause horizontal or vertical lines across the screen, image scrambling, or half the screen being dark. The T-CON is a separate board from the main board and is often economical to repair rather than replace.

Samsung power board faults cause the TV to fail to power on entirely, or to click repeatedly when switching on. We repair at the component level — replacing failed capacitors, fuses, or power ICs.
