A Samsung Galaxy that won't charge is one of the most disruptive phone faults — and one of the most commonly misdiagnosed. When the port is genuinely damaged or the battery has degraded, the repair is still straightforward. Samsung Galaxy phones have USB-C ports that are designed for service — most models allow port replacement without micro-soldering on a dedicated daughterboard. USB-C port lint cleaning is the most common Samsung charging fix. Over months of daily use in pockets and bags, the USB-C port accumulates compressed lint that sits at the base of the port and prevents the cable from making full contact. The charging indicator appears intermittently, or only charges at specific angles. Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging requires a compatible charger. Galaxy S24 supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. S24 Ultra supports 45W wired. Using a non-Samsung charger or a USB-A 5W charger limits charging speed significantly. If "Charging slowly" appears with the original charger, test the cable first — Samsung USB-C cables can fail at the USB-C connector.
